On Tuesday 7 July 2020, Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews announced that due to the growth in COVID-19 cases Metropolitan Melbourne would return to Stage 3 Restrictions effective from Midnight 8 July until 19 August.
This 6-week lock-down period will be tough for businesses, some of which were just beginning to open their doors again. Our thoughts go out to these businesses and also to everyone within our community, together we can overcome this.
Within the Premier’s Media Release, he advised that there are support packages on the way. As more information is released we will provide more insights, however in the meantime the Asparq team is a phone call away if you need assistance.
Currently, the key support measures available as published on the Victorian Business Website include:
- Tourism Accommodation Support Program | Financial support of $225 per booking per night to support tourism operators
- Local Lockdowns Business Support Program | A $5,000 grant is available to help businesses affected by the COVID-19 lockdowns (currently only available to suburbs locked down as announced on 30 June).
More information on the Economic Survival Package and the JobKeeper Payroll tax exemption can be found on the Victorian Coronavirus (COVID-19) business Support Page.
